Meet Krishnakumar, aka KK, a Tamil actor who appeared as Lord Krishna in the mythology sci-fi. Throughout the movie, only a silhouette image was visible that gave the gist of the Almighty.

For the uninitiated, Lord Krishna played an important role in the Hindu mythology saga Mahabharata. He was the one who guided the Pandavas during the Kurukshetra War, thus becoming their well-wisher in many ways.


Krishnakumar's face was not revealed throughout the film, but the actor took to his Instagram account and shared a story about feeling grateful to play a prominent role in Kalki 2898 AD.

Sharing a story on his official Instagram account, the Tamil actor wrote, "#kalki2898ad It is an absolute honor to be able to open an epic film by playing such a special character. Grateful."

More about Krishnakumar's film career

The Tamil actor made his debut with the 2010 elease, Kadhalagi. However, he became a household name when he essayed the role of Chaitanya, aka Chay, in Soorari Pottru.

He was also seen in the Dhanush starrer Maaran, where he played a supporting role. Krishnakumar comes from a theater background and has directed many plays. He is the artistic director of the Little Theatre Group.


Before news of Krishnakumar as Lord Krishna in Kalki 2898 AD went viral, fans assumed or rather demanded Mahesh Babu to play the role. They felt he would've been the perfect choice.
