After spending more than a decade in Bollywood, Ranveer Singh's fans are convinced that he can do anything and everything that is thrown at him. This includes disasters and bears. Today, we'll be reviewing the actor's OTT debut show - Ranveer Vs Wild With Bear Grylls. From cuddling with the OG adventurer to going off-limits for a rare flower, this show is a blend of tamed adventures and predictable ending.

On the opening act of Koffee With Karan S7, the actor said he has done enough and more things that gave him adrenaline rush. From 'doing it' in the vanity van to the recent episode of cuddling with Bear Grylls, his Serbian adventure was probably filled with chills.

His quest is simple - navigate through the Serbian forest to find Ramonda Serbica, a rare flower that can survive harshest of the conditions, for his wife Deepika Padukone. Giving out the serial wooer vibes, he said to Bear, "You have to earn to marry Deepika and you have to maintain that. Happy wife, happy life."

The special begins with Singh running from a (already trained) bear only to be rescued by another Bear (sorry, we had to do it.) Along the way, he's given two choices of different nature which include advantageous ones like grapple gun or flare, sadistic ones like eat maggots or boar testicles, sensitive ones like talking about hsi true self or how he met Deepika. As a viewer, you can pick any but he will still make it.

There are no terrain slips, no body bruises, and definitely no suprise animal encounters. Instead, you'll see the actor doing stuff like dancing in front of the wolves (while they watch him in distress), crack jokes looking straight into the camera, and showing off his Johnny bravado at every chance he gets. We mean, what's the fun if the ending gets super predictable? A game is not a game anymore if you already know you're going to win.

However, at some point, Ranveer reveals why he is doing this adventure. 'To get in touch with my primal self. I am finally in an actual jungle for the first time beyond Aarey,' he says while doing some self-introspection in the middle of nowhere.

But what's more bothering is ever since Bear Grylls started hanging out with celebrities and the Prime Minister, the adrenaline and thrill has somehow fizzled out. We remember how he was the inspiration back when we were in school and why everyone would watch Discovery Channel only for him. Grylls was the man with no fear, no hesitation, and who drank his own piss. During an episode, Ranveer finished his water and is dehydrated. We were internally screaming - tell him Bear, just tell him!

Ramonda Serbica, the rare flower we spoke about, has an interesting history. It is a flower which can, even when completely dried up, can be revived with little sprinkes. It represents Serbian suffering after the armistice during the First World War. At the end of the Netflix's Ranveer Vs Wild With Bear Grylls, we rolled our eyes, gulped a glass of water, and went back to watching FRIENDS.
