From within the forests of Uttarakhand come the sounds of secrets that only nature holds, but if you listen carefully you'll also hear a love story, whispered through the rustling of the leaves and repeated through the gurgling of the streams. A love story that is centuries old, but known throughout the hills even today. The story of Rajula and Malushahi. First penned only in the 1930's this beautiful folklore echoes in the forest even today.

Season2 of Coke Studio Bharat released a rendition of this folklore called 'Sonchadi' which features renowned singer/performer Neha Kakkar , digV and the folk singer Kamla Devi . This track is beautifully produced with a perfect amalgamation of contemporary sounds with the music from the roots of Uttarakhand. The song starts with some lush nature sounds and pads entangled with Kamla devi's vocals and finally resorts into a straight beat groove . It is an absolute sonic treat in its entirety and leaves one with no option than to start moving to the groove.

Conceptualised , Produced by the Coke Studio Bharat season2 Think-Tank involving Ankur Tewari , Swanand Kirkire , Kausar Munir , KJ Singh , we are anticipating many more such heart warming compositions to come out this year . With the success of Coke Studi Bharat season1 through songs like Khalasi, Holi re Rasiya , its a no brainer that this season is up for giving more such banger tracks going ahead this year.
