Chennai based indie singer songwriter Kamlesh Purohit has released his latest single Kasoor. The song depicts how memories change shape over time. Written 4 years ago, Kamlesh was insecure about releasing the track considering it reveals some of my deepest feelings. "This song dwells on how memories, once as beautiful as the sunset, can become as painful as the scorching heat in a desert. I believe that these feelings were ever beautiful as they depicted a journey that was hurtful, yet exquisite, which deserves to be seen", says the musician. The song has been written, composed and sung by Kamlesh while it has been produced by Aditya Anand and mixed and mastered by Hanish Taneja.

Kamlesh had an inclination towards music from an early age. His music introduction was through folk and regional music. As a child Kamlesh would perform for organizations in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Having a musical lineage, Kamlesh gravitated towards being a singer siongwriter. An alumni of KM Conservatory, Kamlesh was a part of a Sufi ensemble led by Dr. AR Rahman.Kamlesh has carved out a niche for himself in the Indie music landscape. His music is often praised for its familiar themes and a sort of intimacy that reels you in and leaves you in awe.

His last release came a year ago in the form of the romantic track "Nazdeekiyan" which was produced by Sunny MR.
