Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain's band Shakti has won the Best Global Music Album award at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.

The fusion band, comprising John McLaughlin, percussionist V Selvaganesh, violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan, Hussain, and Mahadevan, won the prestigious award for their album 'This Moment' on Sunday (February 4th) night at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.The Band expressed hearty gratitude through their instagram post, on receiving the awards and said :

"Thank you all for the love and best wishes! Winning the #Grammys has been an overwhelming experience! Thank you once again from our entire band."

This is the 4th and a comeback album by the band after halgting release since 1977. The album "This moment" has 8 songs and is sure to take one on a sonic trip!
