Singer Songwriter Kalpana releases new single Roses to Honour Nature and Spirituality
Team Radio City Freedom
Having undergone significant transitions as a young adult, Hyderabad based singer songwriter Kalpana releases Roses as a contrast to her debut single Helpline. Where Helpline was about suffering, loneliness and grief, Roses is about purpose, growth and companionship. While Helpline held the imagery of being suspended in outer space, Roses is rooted firmly in the earth, and the visuals for the single were shot at the Rainforest in Kanha Shanti Vanam, Telangana. While Helpline is a cry for help, Roses is the energy that heals. The track is essentially about connecting to something larger than oneself, relishing solitude, and realizing our true Nature.
'I realized that doubting myself is hurting the very Divine Nature in me that makes me who I am. I know now that I will never be alone, because I found companionship in myself. Living in Kanha Shanti Vanam for the past year has fundamentally changed me, and it means the world that this track was created here,' says Kalpana.
Roses was produced by Balaji Krishnan and Sanjai Shine (Chennai). It is predominantly an acoustic production, with ambient elements, sampling and sound design. Alot of the textural and atmospheric elements were created by sampling and processing parts of Kalpana's vocals. Sanjai and Balaji's direction with Roses was to have an organic, and live feel, to emulate the rawness and simplicity of the message. To top it off, this project was mixed and mastered by Pritpal Sudan (Mumbai) and Thomas Juth (Sweden), respectively.
