Late in 2023 , Ankur Tewari dropped a 8 song album 'Akela' which explores a dark, personal and dreamy side of him. This dream-pop album is very distinct from the Guitar driven minimalistic songs he has dropped before. In the album he talks about lonliness, relationship and embracing both. Each song apart from being a lyrical treat which Ankur has made sure in all his past releases is also sonic treat with spacious and dreamy soundscape.

The album breaksdown with the track 'Parwaana' which has a very post rock vibe and the hook 'Parwaana hu main, Parwaah na mujhe' just stays with you . Next ,the title track 'Akela' with a catchy hook riff proceeded by tracks like 'Iss dil ka aisa hi hai' , 'Gunjaayish hai' , 'Ik dooje ke liye' , 'Doobey', 'Hum(reprise)' resonate with you in a manner which one would never expect. The last track 'Sawaal'is a 8.34 minute treat which is an amalgamation of poetry ,sound scpaes , drones rather than a conventional song.

Ankur Tewari has returned to his home turf with his first studio album since 2017, Akela. The album marks an important career milestone, not just for the artist but also his new label, Tiger Baby Records, co-founded with Bollywood directors, Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.
'Akela' brings forward a previously unseen and unexplored side of the singer as he drifts away from his usual youthful guitar based acoustic sound and ventures into a more mature, melancholic dream pop soundscape produced by Rohan Ramanna of Salvage Audio Collective.

Apart from being a Singer/Songwriter/Composer all these years , Ankur has embarked on the journey to explore a role which is new for him and the Indian film music industry. He has added his expertise on music for films like 'Gehraiyaan' , Kho gaye hum kahaa' , 'Archies' lately as the Music supervisor. He has been successful in collating music from some really fresh sounding artists for these movies.
