Actor Pratik Gandhi is beaming with all the success and adulation coming his way for his flawless performance as Harshad Mehta in the Sony LIV web series, ‘Scam 1992’.
In an interview to Radio City, the actor opened up about his late father on how his father reacted to his decision of quitting his full-time job as a mechanical engineer to pursue acting.
“When I left my job in 2016, everyone knew that something special was in the making. It would happen. Because a lot of Gujarati films did come my way. But after ‘Scam 1992’, the family is very happy that I’ve achieved whatever I’ve wanted. I really miss my father though because he was the only person who was always very excited about everything that I did. In my first play, I was standing with only a spade in my hand and had to deliver just one dialogue. Yet, he was very excited to see me, on stage. ‘Scam…’ was the last project that we spoke about when he was in the hospital.”
Directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Applause Entertainment, the unprecedented success of the show marks the rise and arrival of Gandhi as one of the most bankable actors on the block.
