Renowned Malayalam actor Joju George, known for his candid nature, has made shocking revelations about his experience with the critically acclaimed yet controversial film `Churuli`. In a recent tell-all interview, the actor disclosed that he was not only denied payment for his role but was also misled about the version of the film released to the public.
However, to his shock, the unedited version was screened in theatres, leading to significant backlash against the actor. "I had to weather it alone," Joju stated, expressing his hurt over the broken promise. He mentioned that despite conveying his concerns to the producers, no one from the team reached out to him after the film`s release. "I would’ve felt better if they had just informed me about the change," he said, highlighting the breach of trust.

Addressing the debate around increasing violence in films, Joju offered a stark perspective. He believes that cinema merely mirrors the harsh realities of society. "People say films are getting violent, but just look around; the reality is far worse," he argued. Drawing from his own research, he recounted disturbing real-life incidents to emphasise that the brutality in the world often surpasses what is shown on screen.

Joju George, who played the role of a police officer in the Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial, claims the makers breached a mutual agreement. He revealed that the team had assured him that a "clean version" of the film, without profane language, would be released theatrically.
