Bollywood Boycott Trend: Alia Bhatt Becomes The Next Target Amidst Laal Singh Chadha Release

A few days back Twitter users started this trend of Boycotting Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor`s movie Laal Singh Chadha. After this, tweeterites have now begun the trend of boycotting Alia Bhatt. The hashtag #boycottaliabhatt is trending just before the OTT release of her movie Darlings. This is Alia`s debut as a producer.
Alia’s Darlings has been accused of promoting domestic violence against Men. The boycotting scenario started begun when in a snippet of the movie Alia was seen torturing her on-screen husband Vijay Varma.
Reacting to this a Twitter user posted, “ "Everyone should #BoycottAliaBhatt for making a misandrist movie like Darlings. For Bollywood, domestic violence against men is a matter of joke. Pathetic." Another said, "Why is Domestic violence against men normalized and even worse mocked? 3.4 crore men in India face domestic violence. This is not acceptable."

Along with Alia Bhatt, the movie also stars Vijay Verma, Shefali Shah, and Roshan Mathew. The film is now on the floors of Netflix.
Alia`s production house Eternal Sunshine is co-producing the movie with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
