Akshay Kumar to reunite with Anees Bazmee after 15 years
Akshay Kumar and Anees Bazmee are a duo who have delivered some rib-tickling Bollywood comedies. With the actor`s impeccable comic timing and the filmmaker`s vision to make unforgettable films, the two are all set to reunite after 15 years.
While uncertainty about No Entry Mein Entry, a sequel to Bazmee`s No Entry (2005), continues to linger, the director is going back to one of his most cherished and successful collaborations.
The director confirmed the collaboration in a chat with Mid-day and shared, “It is a comedy. I am writing the script right now; it’s almost complete. If everything goes as planned, we will start shooting soon.”
Reports suggest that the yet-to-be-titled film is a remake of the Telugu action comedy, Sankranthiki Vasthunam. While Bazmee remained tight-lipped about revealing further developments, he shared that the two remained in touch throughout the years, despite not having worked together.

“There is mutual love and respect between us. When I told him about this film, he was more than happy,” he shared.
Anees Bazmee, whose last project was Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (2024), has built his three-decade-long career in writing and making situational comedies. He reflected that writing comedy today requires far more precision.
He mentioned, “Earlier, things were more instinctive. Now you have to write with a lot of thought. You also have to keep in mind whether the actors can handle that kind of comedy. I like writing under pressure. That helps me write better. When I’m happy or angry, something good comes out. But if I’m sad or blank, it becomes difficult to write.”
He opined that comedy remains the most enduring game, even when action currently dominates the box office. He added, “Comedy is the most difficult genre, but it stays with people the longest.”
In the past, Anees Bazmee and Akshay Kumar have collaborated for some laughter riots like Welcome, Singh is Kinng, and Thank You.
