Alia Bhatt is back again with a new film that is set to release on September 27, 2024. Directed by Vasan Bala, whose last film "Monica, My Darling" surprised everyone, "Jigra" promises to be a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
It is jointly produced by Dharma Productions and Alia`s own Eternal Sunshine Production. This is Alia Bhatt`s second film as a producer, the first being the critically acclaimed and well-received social drama "Darlings (2022)".
In an Instagram post, Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Production shared the teaser for the film, which reveals the title along with showing a short glimpse into Alia`s look in the film.

It begins with a quote by G.K. Chesterton: "The paradox of courage is that one must be a little careless of life in order to keep it". Then, Alia`s voice is heard mouthing a dialogue from the film, revealing its themes.
With the lyrics written by Varun Grover and the screenplay helmed by popular TV writer and novelist Debashish Irengbam, the teaser gives off a rather dreamy feeling.
Alia Bhatt was last seen in Karan Johar`s "Rocky Rani Ki Prem Kahani (2022)," which marked 25 years of Johar making films. It was widely appreciated by audiences and critics alike while also performing well at the box office. This collaboration between ace director Vasan Bala and Alia Bhatt is exciting, especially to see how Bala incorporates the acting talents of Alia into his filmmaking sensibilities. Ever since his debut film, Bala has been known for making offbeat films that look and feel different.
In her Instagram post, Alia Bhatt wrote, "Presenting #Jigra, directed by the extremely talented @vasanbala and produced by @dharmamovies & @eternalsunshineproduction From debuting in a Dharma production to now producing a film with them, in many ways, it feels like coming full circle from where I started. Every day is a different day... exciting, challenging (and a little scary)... not just as an actor but also as a producer as we bring this film to life, and I CANNOT wait to share more as we move forward JIGRA - in cinemas on 27th September 2024"
