Alia Bhatt Shows Support for Mother-to-be Deepika Padukone Against Internet Trolls
Parents-to-be Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh announced their pregnancy back in February. Since then, Deepika Padukone has been subjected to unnecessary and rude trolling for her pregnancy online. The couple has already taken a break from the public eye, with the due date coming in September. The couple was on their babymoon only a few days ago, and they even skipped the Met Gala 2024. This week, Deepika and Ranveer made their first public appearance together after the announcement. They came to a polling booth in Mumbai amidst the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Deepika Padukone has been a victim of incessant trolling after the Pathaan actress sported her baby bump. The internet trolls have been making nasty comments related to body shaming, some even calling her baby bump fake. Following this incident, senior journalist Faye D’Souza wrote a strongly worded message for the internet bullies who go around making nasty comments online.

In her post, Faye wrote, “Dear social media, Deepika Padukone stepped out to do her democratic duty and vote. She did not ask for your feedback on her body or her pregnancy. You have no right to comment on any aspect of her life. Stop it. Behave.”
Many celebrities were quick to like this post. Apart from Alia Bhatt, her sisters Pooja Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt and their mother, Soni Razdan, liked the post. Several Bollywood celebrities, including Urmila Matondkar, Rakulpreet Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, Neha Dhupia, Archana Puran Singh, Bhumi Pednekar, and Bipasha Basu, also liked the reporter’s post.

Many fans praised Alia Bhatt for showing support for Deepika Padukone. One of them also pointed out that Alia had also faced similar trolling back when she was pregnant, which makes her action even more praiseworthy. One netizen commented, “After the hate Alia got, I can see her empathising with DP (everyone sympathises, but Alia went through the speculations too, so can personally relate).”
Another fan commented, “This is the time they need to be supportive! It’s just too personal to stoop at this level and interfere. Opinions by strangers on herself is the last thing she needs right now. Hope the baby and mama and dad are all okay and living every moment.”
Deepika’s pregnancy is due this September, as per the announcement, and fans can’t wait to welcome Btown’s favourite couple’s child.
