Alia Bhatt Takes on a New Role: Author of a Children`s Book Series!
Actor Alia Bhatt, a powerhouse in the Indian film industry, has embarked on a new and exciting adventure - writing children`s books. On Sunday, Bhatt launched her debut book, titled "ED Finds a Home," at the Storyverse Children`s Lit Fest in Mumbai. This heartwarming story marks the beginning of a series inspired by her own children`s wear brand, Ed-a-Mamma.

"ED Finds a Home" centres around a special bond between a dog named Ed and a little girl named Alia (inspired by Bhatt herself). The book`s narrative takes an enchanting turn as Alia possesses a unique superpower: she can talk to Ed! This charming tale focuses on themes close to Bhatt`s heart: caring for the planet and the beautiful companionship of pets. Published by Puffin Books India, the children`s imprint of Penguin Books India, the book boasts vibrant illustrations that will surely capture the imagination of young readers.
The actor took to her Instagram page to share her excitement about this new venture. "A new adventure begins..." she wrote. "`Ed finds a Home` is just the beginning of a new series of books from the universe of Ed-a-Mamma... My childhood was full of storytelling and storytellers.. and one day I had a dream to bring out the child in me and put it into books for children..." The post also expressed her gratitude to the team behind the book, including Vivek Kamath, Shabnam Minwalla, and Tanvi Bhat.
This latest endeavour adds another dimension to Bhatt`s ever-expanding portfolio. In 2020, she launched the successful Ed-a-Mamma brand, catering to both kidswear and maternity wear. Last year, Reliance Retail entered into a joint venture with Ed-a-Mamma, showcasing Bhatt`s keen business acumen. Additionally, she established her own production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions, in 2021.

On the acting front, Bhatt recently wrapped up filming for "Jigra." The family affair extended to the book itself, with each of them taking turns reading excerpts to the audience, primarily consisting of eager young listeners. Bhatt even playfully teased the children during the reading, saying, "I`m gonna stop right here. Because then nobody is going to buy this book. This is our lead hero and heroine, Ed, and the little girl whose name is Alia in this book.
