Anjali Arora To Play Sita In Shri Ramayan Katha, Says This About Beinf Compared To Sai Pallavi
When it comes to bringing Indian mythology to life, nothing can bring people closer than movies. While many films tried narrating the story of the Hindu epic, every piece of content on Ramayan has something new and fresh to offer. Speaking of which, Anjali Arora is all set to embrace the role of Mata Sita in Abhishek Singh`s Shri Ramayan Katha.
For the uninitiated, the internet sensation gained fame after her dance videos went viral on social media. She became a household name with Kangana Ranaut`s reality show, Lock Upp.
While fans are waiting with bated breath to see Sai Pallavi play Mata Sita opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Nitesh Tiwari`s Ramayan, Anjali Arora announced her glorious silver screen debut with yet another film inspired by the Hindy mythology saga.
She recalled the initial anticipation of securing the role in Shri Ramayan Katha, mentioning that many other potential actresses were in consideration to play the vital character. Despite the competition, she was the chosen one.
“I believe they saw something in me that convinced them I could do justice to the character. I was finalized last month, and since then, I have been watching videos, doing readings, and attending workshops. I will do my best to do justice to the character,” Anjali said.

Since both Abhishek Singh`s Shri Ramayan Katha and Nitesh Tiwari`s Ramayan are based on the same subject, it is natural that Anjali Arora will attract some level of comparison to Sai Pallavi`s depiction of Mata Sita.
Anjali, however, saw this as an opportunity instead of a conflict and said, “If I am compared to a Bollywood actress, I will be happy.”
The upcoming Abhishek Singh directorial, which marks her Bollywood debut, landed in her lap after her dance videos on `Kacha Baadam` went viral. She also gained popularity with her stint in Lockk Up.
The news of Arora playing the role of Mata Sita did not sit well with the netizens. While some criticized the directors, others called it the worst casting decision ever made.
Reacting to the news of Anjali Arora grabbing the role, one user wrote, “The worst selection for Sita Maa role in the history of Ramayan TV series or movie making after Kriti Sanon. The makers purposely did this to hurt sentiments. This is the lowest level of casting.”

However, the internet trolls and criticism don`t seem to bother the influencer. While some assumed that it was her social media follower base that got her the role, Anjali Arora argued that her Instagram persona will never reflect in her performance.
She also addressed the inevitability of trolls and their rights to express views, mentioning that her “social media image has nothing to do with her acting skills and won’t affect her performance.”
