All is not well with the Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer The Lady Killer, which released in theaters on November 3. With its trailer releasing just a few days before the release, the film just managed to earn over $35,000 on its first day.
The reason for such a shocking performance lies in its budget. According to some, the film went past its planned budget, and hence there was no money left to shoot the remaining major chunk. It was only later that the makers realized that all the allocated money was over, and that`s why the film got stuck.
Some other reports claim that the film`s budget was reduced. Complications prevailed for its director, Ajay Behl, who later couldn`t commit his actors for the shoot as they had already signed some other projects.
The trailer for the film looked promising and gave a glimpse into an intense thriller with a shred of murder, mystery, and love. The chemistry between Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar looked fabulous and sizzling. However, all of that goes to waste now as the film finds no audience due to its poor planning.

Arjun and Bhumi have both distanced themselves from the film and didn`t really speak about it when the trailer was released. Even with these difficulties, the film managed to get released with some smart editing and voiceovers that were done to give it some sense of completion. But that was not enough to hook everyone.
Not just that, it is also said that the OTT platform, which had earlier signed to release the film on the platform, has not backed away and is thinking again about whether to showcase it or not. The deal with the production house was made earlier, and it will reportedly not be taken forward. If that is true, it is bad news for the film, which won`t find any audience online as well.
Meanwhile, Arjun Kapoor was last seen this year in Kuttey, which was directed by Aasmaan Bhardwaj. Bhumi Pednekar was recently seen in the comedy film Thank You for Coming, which was produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor.
