Ayan Mukerji To Make A Spin-Off For Shah Rukh Khan, To Create An Origins Story Of Scientist

After waiting for 8 long years, Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva is finally here and the audience has been showering immense love on Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer movie. With several rumours about which Bollywood star would make a cameo in the latest release, Shah Rukh Khan finally pleased the audience with his character - Mohan Bhargav - who is a scientist. Playing an crucial part of the story, the actor imbibed Vanarastra.
Many fans and several reviews read that Shah Rukh Khan`s character was an ode to one of his critically acclaimed movies Swades. He shares the same character name and profession in the 2004 release. Commenting on how Vanarastra`s character came into existence in the movie`s sequel, director Ayan Mukerji confirmed the team will be creating a spin-off for the same.
Post Brahmastra`s release, Ayan said, “Before the fans were saying it, we were also saying that ourselves. When we were shooting the sequence in 2019, we were also saying on sets. As we discovered the personality of the scientist, we said, ‘Yaar, we have to do stuff. We have to do the origins story of the scientist!`”
Previously, an industry expert quoted, "It’s interesting that Shah Rukh Khan in Brahmastra is named Mohan Bhargav. He is usually known for playing Rahul and Raj but Mohan Bhargav was also a memorable character. Hence, the moment his full name is uttered in the film, it instantly rings a bell in the minds of the viewers.”
Speaking of Brahmastra, the movie is already garnering immense applauds across the globe. The mythology-fiction is close to collecting a gorss total of Rs. 400 crores as its worldwide collection.
