India welcomes the new Parliament building, which exhibits the distinct heritage of our country. With several cultures coming together, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the historic building on May 28 this year. Amidst this, the cast of Thank You For Coming- Bhumi Pednekar, Dolly Singh, Shehnaaz Gill, and Shibani Bedi - visited the new Parliament.
Accompanying them was the union minister, Anurag Thakur. He met the actresses and even gave them a tour of the building. After the tour, Shehnaaz Gill, Shibani Bedi, and Dolly Singh also spoke about the Women`s Reservation Bill passed on Wednesday.
The Bigg Boss star said, "It is a great step. I am a woman. If we are given rights and equal treatment, even parents will support girls. I come from a small village. The girls are married off so that they can get settled. But after this, if girls and boys are treated as equals, a lot of things in the country will change."
"This is a beautiful moment, a landmark moment in history. With the passage of this bill, women from all facets of life will get a chance to be a part of the law-making process. So, I think it is a great development,” she added.
The Thank You for Coming cast is not the first to visit the new Parliament building. Before the divas, it was Kangana Ranaut and Esha Gupta who joined the first session in Delhi.
