Vivek Agnihotri`s The Kashmir Files was a hard-hitting movie that became an instant box-office hit. No one saw a movie depicting this amount of truth and inhumanity. Based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, The Kashmir Files garnered mixed reviews. While some appreciated the efforts of bringing out the raw truth, others called it a religious motive. Speaking of The Kashmir Files review, the jury head of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) highly condemned the movie, calling it `propaganda.`
In a video that`s making rounds on the internet, Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid was seen criticizing The Kashmir Files at the recent International Film Festival of India (IFFI) meeting. Held in Goa, he openly spoke ill about the movie, calling it highly disturbing. Lapid said, “All of us were disturbed and shocked by the movie The Kashmir Files. It felt to us like a propaganda, vulgar movie that`s inappropriate for an artistic, competitive section of such a prestigious film festival.”

“I feel comfortable to share open disfeelings with you since the spirit of the festival can truly accept critical discussion,” he further added. What made this comment controversially viral was Anupam Kher`s presence at this very film festival. For the unversed, Kher portrayed the lead role of a Kashmiri Pandit in The Kashmir Files. However, neither the director nor the actors of the movie have made any comments on the condemnation.
For those who haven`t watched, The Kashmir Files bought out the brutal truth about the infamous Kashmir exodus of the Hindus residing in the valley. Released on March 11 this year, the movie also featured Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, and Pallavi Joshi in pivotal roles.
