Indian Idol 14 Winner: Vaibhav Gupta From Kanpur Takes Home Prestigious Trophy

Kanpur`s Vaibhav Gupta Becomes The Indian Idol 14 Winner
On Sunday, March 3rd, Vaibhav Gupta from Kanpur was crowned as the Indian Idol 14 winner. He took home 25 lakh rupees as prize money, a trophy, and a brand new Maruti Suzuki Brezza for his achievement. The show’s winner was announced by the talented Sonu Nigam, who was also the judge for the first three seasons of Indian Idol.
The first runner-up of the contest was Shubhadeep Das Chowdhury from Kolkata, and the second runner-up was Piyush Panwar from Jaipur. Both of these finalists won 5 lakh rupees. The third runner-up was Ananya Pal from Kolkata, who got 3 lakh rupees as prize money.
Sony TV’s official Instagram handle announced Vaibhav Gupta’s win with a post captioned, “We`re thrilled to announce the winner of Indian Idol @vaibhavgupta_sings, who`s driving home in style with a brand new Maruti Suzuki Brezza!”
Celebrating his win, Vaibhav said that it really is an honour to take home the trophy of such a prestigious talent show.
While talking about his journey, Vaibhav shared, “I feel good to call myself the winner of Indian Idol 14. People have loved me a lot. Dreams are coming true; this is just the start. God willing, I wish to enter Bollywood now. With the love and appreciation I was getting, I was hopeful that I could win this. Especially when Mahesh Bhatt whistled for me, I loved that moment. I keep playing it in my head.”

Further, Vaibhav shared his dream to do playback singing for popular artists as well as bring back the beauty of live singing, which is losing relevance in the current age.
He expressed, “I want to do playback singing for Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and Ranveer Singh now. I will try my best for this to happen someday. I want to bring back live music, the symphony kind. The 90s feel is now coming back. People are listening to Kishore Da again, and this generation is focusing more on the melody. It is a very good era of music, and I want to present a new wave in it.”
Along with Shreya Ghoshal, the contestants were judged and mentored by Vishal Dadlani and 90s heartthrob Kumar Sanu. Indian Idol season 14’s first episode premiered on October 7, 2023, and the show ran for about 5 months.
