Sharanya Iyer aka TrulyNomadly Instagram Post Goes Viral
The internet has been going wild and crazy after a travel influencer, Sharanya Iyer, revealed spending over 50 lakhs in the year 2024, out of which 20 lakh was her travel budget. Taking it to Instagram, she shared a breakdown of how much she spent in the last year.
Out of 50 lakh, a major chunk was spent on travels. Sharanya revealed that she spent a total of 5 lakhs on flights in 2024. She further broke down the expenses by spending 3 lakh on Greenland, 2.5 lakh on her trip to Iceland, 1 lakh when she visited Thailand and Laos (combined), 1.5 lakh on her visit to Madeira, and 8 lakh on her trip to South Africa with her parents.
She also spent around 60,000 on her "European Summer." She mentioned winning 40,000 in a casino during this trip, which would presumably have cut down the expenses.

Besides these luxurious travels, Sharanya Iyer revealed spending 22 lakhs on buying her new car and 5 lakhs on medical expenses that were not covered by insurance. In her caption, she also cleared that these figures do not include her "FnB, daily expenses, and material accumulations."

Her caption read, "I used to be such an obsessive saver and spend sparingly on the `big` things. 2024 changed that with help and advice and healthy pushes from my dad and friends. Not everyone needs to agree, but this has been my significant move last year, and it brought me so much joy and a sense of safety in an otherwise difficult year. Here`s to more of this in 2025!"

The reel has garnered several eyeballs on social media, leaving many inspired to invest in themselves. Several cheered for Sharanya and hoped for more such trips in 2025. However, others wondered how she could afford such a monstrous amount in the first place.
When a few pointed out that most of her trips are sponsored, Sharanya was quick to clarify that she pays for all her travel. Netizens gathered and left some interesting comments on her reel.
One user wrote, "I see it as an investment in your soul," while another wrote, "My middle-class mindset screaming." Another comment read, "Meanwhile, finance influencers are experiencing trauma after this reel."
One follower appreciated her approach and commented, "Amazing reel. Influencers often talk about how many countries they`ve been to, but the amount of money needed to travel should also be a topic of discussion."
