Wake Up Sid 2 happening?
Ranbir Kapoor is currently enjoying a multiplied fandom ever since the release of his recent film Animal, which was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Recently, a video went viral where he and Konkona Sen Sharma were part of a shoot, and some fans were speculating if they were shooting for a sequel to their 2009 film Wake Up Sid. It was directed by Ayan Mukerji and became a critical as well as a commercial hit.
After the glimpses from their shoot went viral, Karan Johar shared the actual video featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona, announcing that it was an ad. The video features Ranbir Kapoor sleeping as he is woken up by the voice of Konkona Sen Sharma, who says, "Sid, wake up. It is Rishi`s day." Rishi was the name of a character played by Namit Das in the film. He was part of the gang of friends.
In the caption, Karan Johar wrote, "Is this really happening? All I know is that something exciting is brewing, and I couldn’t have woken up to a better piece of news." It was clear through this video that it was just an ad. However, that didn`t stop people from wishing that a film really was happening. The comments section was full of people expressing their love for the coming-of-age film that was produced by Dharma.
