Junior Mehmood Passes Away Suffering from Stomach Cancer

Actor Junior Mehmood acted as a Child Artist
Legendary actor Naeem Sayyed, who was popularly known as Junior Mehmood, passed away in the early hours of Friday morning at 2 a.m. He was suffering from fourth-stage stomach cancer. He was 67.
A statement given out by his family read, "Junior Mehmood passed away at 2:15 am at his residence. He was suffering from stomach cancer. May his eternal soul rest in peace." He passed away at his residence in Khar, Mumbai.
His son, Husnain, said to a news portal, "We came to know about his fourth-stage stomach cancer only 18 days ago. We took him to Tata Memorial Hospital. The dean there told us that treatment and chemotherapy at this stage would be very painful. The hospital had suggested that we take care of him at home.”
As he was battling for his life at the hospital, he gave out his last wish. He said that he wanted to meet veteran actor Jeetendra and Marathi actor-director Sachin Pilgaonkar before he died. Junior Mehmood and Jeetendra have acted together in films like Caravan, Suhaag Raat, and Sada Suhaagan, among others.

Jeetendra visited him at the hospital and fulfilled his dying wish. He was visibly in distress, seeing his co-star suffering on the bed. Comedian Johnny Lever also visited him at the hospital, and he looked sad and concerned.
Sachin Pilgaonkar visited Junior Mehmood in the hospital, as shared by his daughter, actress Shriya Pilgaonkar, on Twitter. Junior Mehmood and Sachin have acted in films as child artists and have known each other for years.
Naeem Sayyed has acted in more than 250 films in his long career. Legendary actor Mehmood gave him the name `Junior Mehmood`. He has also directed six Marathi movies. He showed his versatility in the various roles that he played and showed impeccable comic timing in comedy films that he was a part of, like Journey Bombay to Goa and Shabnam Maasi.
His funeral will take place today in Santa Cruz and will be attended by actors and celebrities from Bollywood to pay last respects to his soul. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
