Kamal Haasan to Play Triple Role in Mani Ratnam’s `Thug Life`; Here`s What We Know
After almost 34 years since their first collaboration, Tamil sensations Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan are working together on their upcoming project, `Thug Life`. Another piece of news has just raised fans` excitement for this highly anticipated film. The `Chachi 420` actor will reportedly play three different roles in this film, and all these characters will be distinct from each other.
`Thug Life` will reunite the legendary artist and filmmaker after almost three decades. Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam previously collaborated on the 1987 film `Nayakan`, which was also nominated for an Oscar that year. This film also earned Haasan an Indian National Film Award for Best Actor. The upcoming movie is directed by the `Ponniyin Selvan` director and jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies.

The forthcoming film features Kamal Haasan in the lead role, alongside Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Gautham Karthik, Joju George, Nassar, Abhirami, and others. Dulquer Salman, the `Sita Ramam` actor, announced his departure from the project earlier this month due to scheduling conflicts. The background score and music for the film will be composed by Isai Puyal AR Rahman.
The ‘Vikram’ actor had no prior acting experience but had a strong desire to tell stories. He quickly became a household name with films such as Chachi 420, Indian, Hey Ram, and Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Kamal Haasan is a prominent figure who has made a significant impact on the South Indian film industry.
In addition to Thug Life, he is also working on Indian 2, a sequel to his classic film Indian. The upcoming film, directed by S. Shankar, features Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Nedumudi Venu, Rakul Preet Singh, and other actors.
