When Kangana Ranaut Drew A Delusional Comparison To Amitabh Bachchan
With the ongoing voting period, many well-known public figures are running for Lok Sabha elections in 2024. One of them is actress Kangana Ranaut, who is contesting from Himachal Pradesh`s Mandi on the Bhartiya Janata Party`s (BJP) ticket. She is one of the few actors to don the political hat this year.
While she has made many controversial statements and bold comments, the Queen actress never shies away from speaking her mind out loud. In many of Kangana Ranaut`s rallies, she has spoken several times against Congress and criticized Rahul Gandhi.
In a recent interview, she claimed that she has garnered as much love and respect as Amitabh Bachchan has from the industry, thus drawing a comparison to the legendary actor.

While talking about the same, Kangana said, “Sara desh hairaan hai, ki wo Kangana, chahe Rajasthan chali jau, chahe mai West Bengal chali jau, chahe mai Delhi chali jau, chahe mai Manipur chali jau, aisa lagta hai ki mano itna pyaar aur itna sammaan, Mein daave se keh sakti hu ke Amitabh Bachchan ji ke baad aaj kisiko industry me milta hai to wo mujhe milta hai. (The whole country is surprised; whether I go to Rajasthan, West Bengal, New Delhi, or I go to Manipur, it feels like there is so much love and respect. I can confidently say that after Amitabh Bachchan, if anyone gets such love and respect in the industry, it’s me.)"
As soon as the video went up on X (formerly known as Twitter), netizens started trolling her for living in a rather delusional world. While some made saracstic comments, others brought up her recent string of back-to-back box office failures.

“Kangana’s last hit film came in 2015, and after that, she gave back-to-back 15 flops. Here she is comparing herself to Amitabh Bachchan,” a parody account wrote while sharing the viral video.
Another user commented, “Going by her speeches, Kangana Ranaut may be the first actress in the country to get a national award for her role as an election candidate.”
"Serving the people is not everyone`s cup of tea. Everyone, including me, has dreams. I was in the film industry for 20 years and had a lavish life. I don`t see myself as a neta (politician). I am just a BJP candidate out there to serve the people," Kangana Ranaut said.
She further added, "I have a natural alignment with the BJP. Apart from that, I believe in Bhagvad Geeta`s lessons to fight for our rights. I have been a fan of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose too."
In the same interview, Kangana criticized her opposition Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi, and called him a "victim of an amibitious mother."
"Rahul Gandhi is the victim of an ambitious mother. As we have seen in the film `3 Idiots`, children themselves become victims of `parivarvaad` (dynastic politics). The same is the situation with Rahul Gandhi," the actor said.
