In most of his films, Karan Johar has used some songs that weren`t an original composition. Either composed by other musician or picked up from some other country`s music, lately KJo seems to be obsessed with mix-mastering the oldie but goodies. And speaking of mix-mastering, the filmmaker has allegedly ben accused of stealing a song in his upcoming movie JugJug Jeeyo.
Pakistani singer-turned-politician Abrar Ul Haq has accused the filmmaker to steal one of his songs `Naach Punjaban` to use in his upcomig movie. Starring Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani in the lead, the movie`s trailer shows the song been played in the background where the lead pair is dancing their hearts out. But what comes next may cause a little bit of furor in Johar`s heart.
Expressing his shock and disbelief, Abrar Ul Haq has threatened to sue to producer-filmmaker and take legal actions against using the song without his knowledge. The Pakistani singer took to Twitter saying, ”I have not sold my song “Nach Punjaban” to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar should not use copy songs. This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at all. @DharmaMovies @karanjohar.”
Yes, you read it right. This is apparently the sixth time his song has been copied or in Bollywood`s language - been taken "inspiration" from. Though he didn`t clear the conjecture whether he was pointing the six-time copying allegation on KJo or not.
Directed by Raj mehta, JugJug Jeeyo stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Neetu Singh, Anil Kapoor, Maniesh Paul, and Prajakta Koli. It is a joint production between Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios.
Introducing the film, the filmmaker said JugJug Jeeyo is a "family reunion you cannot miss." He also emphasized on the film is “filled with surprises, emotions and a whole lot of drama.” Well, we don`t know about emotions but this alleged accusation is already brewing a lot of surprises and drama.
What`s up, Karan? Is this true or just another conjecture that will pass with the wind?
