The whole of Bollywood was taken aback in 2018 after the news of Sridevi`s sudden demise by drowning in a bathtub started doing the rounds. The nation was shaken, and so was the industry. But the three people who were affected the most were the legendary actress`s family. Boney Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, and Khushi Kapoor.
As Khushi Kapoor made her debut in Koffee With Karan 8, she recalled the time when the shocking news was broken to her. The two sisters were in neighboring rooms when Sridevi passed away.

As the Archies actress recalled the day when Sridevi passed away, she said she didn`t cry. Khushi felt like she had to hold it together for the rest of her family, especially Janhvi Kapoor, who was more vulnerable.
"I think it took me a while when it happened to kind of accept it. I think it did suddenly hit me after a while. But I was a bit confused; I don`t know. But I had Jahnvi, and I had Dad. So, they were just kind of there to help," Khushi Kapoor said.

"The thing that I remember is that when I got the call, I was in my room. And I could hear wailing from Khushi`s room. And I think I barged into her room, howling and crying. But what I do remember, Karan, is that she looked at me. The minute she looked at me, she just stopped crying. She just stopped. She just sat next to me and started comforting me, and I`ve never seen her cry about it ever since," Janhvi added.
Both the sisters got emotional as they recalled the dreadful day when they lost their mother and the nation lost a legendary actress.
Concluding the segment, Khushi Kapoor said she still hasn`t processed the loss properly. In the process of being strong for her family, it seems her own feelings have taken a backseat.
"I think I felt that I had to hold it together for everyone because I feel I`ve always been the strong one," she quoted.
