While Dr. Mahanta was the mastermind behind the incredible animated ary, Mina and Indrani brought their expertise as ace producers. The film`s narrative was well-crafted by Dr. Amarjyoti Choudhary, with Anupam Mahanta serving as the creative editor.
Expressing his gratitude to Filmfare, the filmmaker said to ANI, “Lachit is an inspiration for us because he has demonstrated that even the mighty powers like the Mughals can be stopped and our identity can be preserved and protected. This is a rare exception made by Filmfare."
Partha Sarath Mahanta also highlighted how the prestige award ceremony does not have a category reserved for aries, and their making an exception for the movie has moved him.
"Filmfare does not have a ary segment. In their glorious history, Filmfare has never accorded this honor to any non-feature film. But in this case, Filmfare has honored Lachit the Warrior with a special AV presentation and felicitation to the director and producer,” he concluded.
Based on the story of courageous Ahom General Lachit Barphukan, the movie takes you deep into the rich history of North East India. Facing a relentless Mughal invasion in 1660, Assam found its savior in Lachit.
Under his guidance and command, Ahom found their victory and defied the odds of defeating the mighty Mughals, thus driving them outside Assam. It was the battle of Saraighat in 1671 that acted as a decisive force for the Mughals to leave the Ahom territory.
