On Lara Dutta`s 46th Birthday, Here`s A Throwback To When She Opened Up On Motherhood
One thing that we have learned from Bollywood is how the actresses can seamlessly balance their personal lives, be doted mothers, and yet be spectacular at their jobs. Speaking of moms, Lara Dutta is one of those celebrities who took a break from acting as soon as her daughter, Saira, was born.
The former Miss Universe ruled the entertainment world by delivering some phenomenal performances in movies like Kaal, Partner, Blue, No Entry, and Bell Bottom, among others.
Lara Dutta married tennis maestro Mahesh Bhupathi in 2011 and welcomed their first child in 2012, whom they named Saira. On the actress`s birthday, let`s take you down memory lane to when she opened up about embracing motherhood.
"You spend many sleepless nights even before the child is born, figuring out whether you`ll be a good mother and be able to live up to everything that`s expected. But no amount of worry is going to prepare you when the child is born," she told the portal.

Calling parenthood the greatest adventure of life, she further added, "Each child goes through its own phases as well. One point in time, they are the best-behaved child, and then they are the opposite. The day you decide to become a parent, you`re signing up for one of the greatest adventures of life, which doesn`t stop ever."
The Billu actress also said embracing motherhood gave her much-needed clarity and put things in perspective when it came to her work.
"When you have this little person in your life, your priorities change. When it comes to work, if it`s a certain amount of time I am assigning myself away from family, I really need to weigh in. I love doing things for myself and would never put myself as the last person I`d look after," Lara Dutta added.
When asked what`s the best thing to teach your children and how, the former Miss Universe suggested leading by example.
"The best thing that you can actually teach, or the best way that you can teach your child, is your own behavior and what you do. So no matter what textbooks you have or what great talks you have about the child, at the end of the day, if you don`t practice what you preach, your child is never going to follow it. So I think for myself. It`s a huge responsibility, but it`s a job that I work at very hard on a daily basis, and it never ends," the doted mom added.
On the work front, Lara Dutta will be seen in Welcome to the Jungle, Suryast, and Ramayana. Radio City wishes the diva a very happy birthday.
