3 Blockbuster Malayalam Films Releasing This Week Before Vishu 2024
With the upcoming Vishu festivities on April 14, several highly anticipated Malayalam-language films will hit theatres this weekend. Two of the most anticipated movies will compete head-to-head, promising an exciting showdown. Below is a list of Malayalam films releasing this week that are expected to create box office magic in Kerala on the occasion of Vishu.

Varshangalkku Shesham is the latest directorial from Vineeth Sreenivasan. The filmmaker has also written the script for the Malayalam movie himself. The film takes us on a nostalgic journey to 1980s Kodambakkam, Chennai, following two young men, Murali and Venu, played by Nivin Pauly and Pranav Mohanlal, as they travel to Madras in hopes of achieving success and fame in the film industry. Varshangalkku Shesham also stars Dhyan Sreenivasan, Basil Joseph, Aju Varghese, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Vineeth Sreenivasan, and Neeraj Madhav in pivotal roles.

Varshangalkku Shesham has already received a huge response in pre-bookings and is being screened extensively across the state. The film reunites the hit pair of Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadharshan on the big screen after their successful collaboration in Vineeth Sreenivasan`s `Hridayam`.
Aavesham features South Indian sensation Fahadh Faasil in the lead role, portraying the character of Ranga, a gangster who becomes involved with a group of teenagers in Bengaluru. This group engages in a conflict with a group of senior students at their college and seeks revenge with the help of Ranga. The movie promises to be a combination of action, comedy, and college drama.

The film is directed by Jithu Madhavan, who also directed ‘Romancham’ last year, achieving commercial success. Aavesham is jointly produced by Nazriya Nazim, Fahadh Faasil, and Anwar Rasheed. Talking about his character in the movie, Fahadh stated, “He is a Bangalore-based goon, which is why we chose this look. Jithu noted many people that he came across. It helped in getting the right look for the character.”
Jai Ganesh stars Unni Mukundan as the lead, playing the role of Ganesh Gangadharan, a paraplegic character. The movie primarily revolves around his journey of acceptance and healing, making it an inspiring story to watch. While the filmmakers have hinted at Jai Ganesh being a superhero film, they have also promised that it offers much more to the fans. The film is directed by Ranjith Sanker.
