National Film Awards 2023: Alia, Kriti and Allu Arjun Reach Delhi for Ceremony

The National Film Awards 2023 are going to be held today at Vigya Bhavan in Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu will be giving the awards to the best people in the field of cinema.
Winners in various categories were announced earlier this year. The ceremony can be watched live from 1:30 p.m. onwards on DD National on Tuesday. People can also stream it online at DD`s YouTube channel.
The National Film Awards are the most respected awards for cinema in the country. They were started in 1954 by the Indian government. Each year, a panel consisting of eminent people from the field of cinema chooses the best films and performances of the year in various categories.
Allu Arjun, Kriti Sanon, and Alia Bhatt won big at the 69th edition of the awards in the categories of Best Actor (Male) and Best Actor (Female), respectively.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were seen leaving for Delhi to attend the ceremony. Alia Bhatt won the award for the role of Gangubai in her film Gangubai Kathiyawadi. The film won multiple awards in different categories. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is going to be present for the ceremony as well.
Kriti Sanon won the award for her role in Mimi, directed by Laxman Utekar. While Allu Arjun won the honor for his striking performance in the blockbuster Pushpa: The Rising.
Along with that, Karan Johar will be present during the ceremony, accompanied by Apoorva Mehta, CEO of Dharma Productions. Dharma produced the war film Shershaah, which had Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead roles. The film won the Special Jury Award.
Waheeda Rehman would be conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for her contribution to Indian cinema.
Due to COVID, the awards didn`t take place in 2020, and hence this year, films released in 2021 will be given the award in different categories. The ceremony was originally planned for May 2022 but had to be postponed due to the lockdown.
