Priyanka Chopra Recalls Being Called `Finished` After Her Movies Tanked, Says She Isn`t A Nepo Baby

If there`s one actress who has conquered both Bollywood and Hollywood with her spectacular talent and boss-bitch attitude, it has to be Priyanka Chopra. Setting an example for the outsiders, PeeCee has set an example of dreaming big and never giving up on them. Off late, the actress has been topping the Bollywood controversy column after she got candid about her move to Hollywood from Bollywood. On a podcast, Priyanka recalled the time when she panicked after delivering back-to-back failures.

Being terrified that she doesn`t come from a rich filmy family, Priyanka Chopra was terrified after six of her movies tanked at the box office. Making here on her own, she was reminded to look out for other revenue sources as PeeCee isn`t a `nepo baby.`
Recalling the horrible time, Priyanka said, “There was a cover which said ‘Finished’.” She was in her early 20s at that time and she remembered how the actress and her mum Madhu Chopra were panicking. The Desi Girl remembers when her mother came to her and said, “You’re gonna be 30 soon. You know that`s old in this industry. They want to work with 20-year-olds so you need to think about a revenue stream if you`re going to sustain yourself."

Priyanka often credits her mom to inculcate the entrepreneurial sense into her as she herself is a businesswoman. She said her mom was only thinking ahead.
“It’s so sad that she had to come and tell me in my ripe old age of 30 that my career would not be the same but it was a fact. It was a concern. I got into production because of that actually,” said Priyanka. She further added that she was concerned because she isn’t a ‘nepo baby.’ “But I was terrified when those 6 movies didn’t do well because I’m not a nepo baby. I didn’t have that kind of support that exists in a big way in Bollywood movies,” Priyanka further said on the podcast.

She also mentioned how turning into a producer was the need of the hour as she thought she`d never be able to bag another big movie. “And that was one of the big reasons why I took on a movie on my shoulders. It was out of necessity, which turned out to be career-defining for me,” said the Dil Dhadakne Do actress.
