Apart from these popular Bollywood movies, Rio was also known for some of his incredible work in television serials like Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke. He also played the role of Gandhari`s father, King Gandhara, in Siddharth Tewary`s Mahabharat.
Rio was also known for being vocal about actors` rights on TV. He was outspoken and candid in his interviews. In 2012, when Rio was replaced by another actor for a television show, he spoke about how actors should show support for one another.
In an interview with a leading media house, Kapadia said, "I belong to no such group; I have grown up differently and have certain values in life. This is a very bad situation for any actor to be in, and many of them have faced it in the industry. When you see the shows made abroad, they prepare the entire script of a particular serial and submit it. Only when the whole story gets approved, the show is aired."

He further added, "But here, one particular concept goes to the channel, and nobody knows what is going to be written by the writer in the episodes to come. Our audience needs their daily dose of drama, and to provide that, the scripts get modified day in and day out. This is the reason why not many of our new shows exist for a period of more than two months. Gone are the days when shows used to run for a year to two years to a maximum of five to ten years."
The veteran actor was last seen in Zoya Akhtar`s Made in Heaven 2. The Amazon Prime web series was headlined by Sobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Mathur, Jim Sarbh, and Kaki Koechlin.
We will miss you, Rio Kapadia. Radio City extends heartfelt condolences to the Kapadia family. Rest in peace, sir.
