"RRR Should Be Nominated For Oscars, Not The Kashmir Files" - Anurag Kashyap

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who is busy promoting his upcoming mystery-thriller Dobaaraa has been a hot topic in Bollywood controversies lately. in a recent interview, the director gave his two cents about which Indian movie should be nominated or awarded an Oscar. Choosing Pan-India blockuster RRR over The Kashmir Files, not only the director made yet another controversial statement, but also triggered Vivek Agnihotri.
Speaking about RRR, Anurag Kashyap mentioned how the Ram Charan - Jr. NTR starrer is perceived in the West. “The West sees RRR differently than how we see it, and they’ve loved RRR. If RRR becomes the India selection, 99% it might get nominated for the Academy Award. That is the impact that RRR has had in the world of Hollywood. India might actually have a nomination in the final five, if RRR is the film that we pick. I don’t know what film anybody is going to pick. I hope not Kashmir Files,” he said.
After him mentioning about The Kashmir Files, a rather piqued Vivek Agnihotri who is the director of the movie, took to Twitter to convey how displeased he was.
