Sai Pallavi Vehemently Denies Rumours About Adopting Vegetarianism for Ramayana

Sai Pallavi, one of the most celebrated actresses in South Indian cinema, has found herself at the centre of a controversy in a rare occurrence. Recent reports claimed that she adopted vegetarianism to prepare for her role as Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious project, Ramayana. The actress, known for her grounded personality, took to social media to deny these allegations emphatically.
Sai Pallavi, however, has strongly refuted these claims. On Wednesday, the actress posted a statement on X, expressing her frustration with what she called "fabricated stories." She wrote, “Most of the times, Almost every-time, I choose to stay silent whenever I see baseless rumours/ fabricated lies/ incorrect statements being spread with or without motives(God knows) but it’s high-time that I react as it keeps happening consistently and doesn’t seem to cease; especially around the time of my films’ releases/ announcements/ cherish-able moments of my career. Next time I see any “reputed” page or media/ individual carrying a cooked up crappy story in the name of news or gossip then you will hear from me legally! Period.”
Interestingly, Sai Pallavi has previously identified herself as a vegetarian in interviews. “If you take food, I am forever a vegetarian. I can`t see when a life dies. I can`t hurt another person and think that it is okay, they deserve it,” she once said. However, her lifestyle choices are personal and unrelated to her professional roles, as emphasised by her social media post.

Looking ahead, she is set to star as Goddess Sita in Ramayana, a two-part mythological epic that features an ensemble cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, and Yash. The project is slated for release in 2026 and is one of the most anticipated films of the decade.

The report went further to claim that she travels with a team of cooks to ensure her meals remain strictly vegetarian.
