"There will be no more withdrawals. Sam is here," proclaims Vicky Kaushal as Sam Manekshaw in the recently released teaser of the film. Embodying the persona of the Army Chief to perfection, Vicky Kaushal is just brilliant. Walking with a bent back and making changes in his voice according to the character`s demands, Vicky Kaushal does it all in just under 2 minutes of the teaser.
The teaser begins with some quick shots of soldiers walking in line behind trucks with their guns. Vicky Kaushal`s voice surrounds the screen as he says, "Ek soldier ke liye uski jaan se zyada kimti hoti hai uski izzat, uski vardi. Aur ek soldier apne vardi ki izzat ke liye apni jaan bhi de sakta hai". The soldiers shout aye in response.
Intercutting then to some visuals on the battlefield with a young Sam Manekshaw running towards enemy grounds, we see a montage of some action. The teaser promises to be an intense war drama with some observations made on politics and its influence on the decisions taken by the army.

Sam has some interactions with the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, played by Fatima Sana Sheikh, in the film. The writers, Bhavani Iyer, Shantani Shrivastava, and Meghna Gulzar, have done a nice job of bringing the dialogues alive that reflect Sam`s personality to the core.
In a poignant interaction with the Prime Minister, he says, "Ye ek jang hai. Mujhe aur mere soldiers ko iski training mili hai. Aap rajniti sambhaliye, jiski aapko training mili hai."
Listening to the dialogues, one cannot help but be completely in awe of them. Vicky Kaushal says it in a manner that is sure to give you goosebumps. If this is what the teaser is doing, the film will surely be a spectacle.
There are a lot of questions as to what the plot will cover, which has definitely generated more curiosity about the film. Sanya Malhotra plays Sam`s wife as she supports him to be with the soldiers, as that`s where he belongs.
Presented as `Our History, His Story`, the film tells the story of an important time in history during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. It is directed by Meghna Gulzar, who previously made the war-drama film Raazi (2018).
The film is all set to clash with Animal on December 1.
