Sam Manekshaw`s daughter reviews Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur
The Bollywood box office saw yet another monstrous clash between two big poster movies, Animal and Sam Bahadur. While the former is an action drama, the latter is based on the real-life story of India`s first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw. Vicky Kaushal headlines the film as he plays the late field marshal. Now, Manekshaw`s daughter has shared her two cents on the film.
The Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur was released in cinemas on December 1. The movie also features Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh in prominent roles. The film had created huge hype, with Meghna Gulzar yet again making a real-life story based on India`s true heroes.
The movie continues to receive mixed reviews. While some call it an out-and-out entertainer, others say it was a brave attempt with intent in place but lacked the depth to dig deep into Sam Manekshaw`s life.

Amidst the same, the late field marshal`s daughter, Maya, shared her reviews of the film. She teared up every time she watched Sam Bahadur, as it reminded her of her father. While she appreciated the attempt to bring Manekshaw`s incredible journey to life, here`s what Maya truly felt about the movie.
Talking to Indian Express, Maya said, “They have made the film to make the country proud of whatever it was. But the time that I tear up every time - I`ve seen the film twice now and I tear up both times - is the last two seconds of the film when you turn to the audience and you’re smiling. That just kills me every time.”
He was the chief of staff during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. In his four-decade-long career, Sam Manekshaw fought in several wars, including World War II, the 1948 Kashmir War against Pakistan and Afghan tribals, the 1962 Indo-Sino War, and the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars.
Sam Bahadur features Vicky Kaushal as the field marshal. The actor has put his heart and soul into the movie to replicate the late army chief`s nuances and little anecdotes.
Apart from Vicky, the film also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh as former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, and Sanya Malhotra as Sam`s wife. The movie reunites Vicky with his Raazi director.
