Just days before Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala`s much-awaited wedding, Samantha Ruth Prabhu shares the heartbreaking news of her father, Joseph Prabhu`s sudden death. For the uninformed, Samantha was previously married to Chaitanya.
The Citadel star shared the shocking news of her father`s demise on November 29. She took to her Instagram stories and wrote, "Until we meet again, Dad (heartbreak emoji)" The cause of his death is not known yet.
Details about Joseph Prabhu`s professional career are sparse, but he`s known to be a supportive father, especially when it came to Samantha Prabhu`s career in the film industry. "All my life growing up, I had to fight for validation. My father was kind of like... I think most Indian parents are like that. They think they’re protecting you," she began.

Samantha further recalled how her father would undermine her and added, “He actually told me, ‘You’re not that smart. This is just the standard of Indian education. That’s why even you can get a first rank.’ When you say that to a child, I really believed for the longest time that I’m not smart and not good enough."
The actress`s love-hate relationship with her father made it difficult for her to accept praise coming her way. She added, “I’m used to fighting for validation. Suddenly, all these praises were being showered on me, and I didn’t know how to accept it."
After Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya`s marriage ended in 2021, nearly a year later, Joseph Prabhu took to Facebook to share theowback pictures from the wedding and reflect on the past. He mentioned it took a long time for him to come to terms with their split and hoped for a new beginning in his daughter`s life.
