Thalapathy Vijay`s wife Sangeetha files for divorce
Tamil star and TVK Chief Vijay is hitting the headlines, but this time, for all the wrong reasons. The actor`s wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, has filed for a divorce from Vijay after accusing him of infidelity.
The matter has reportedly moved to the Chengalpattu family court after 25 years of marriage.
According to a report by India Today, Sangeetha accused her husband and actor of cheating on her with another actress. No names have been revealed yet.
The divorce plea has been filed under specific provisions of the Special Marriage Act, 1954, which permit a spouse to seek dissolution of marriage on grounds of adultery and cruelty.

As stated in the petition, Sangeetha claims that Vijay was involved in an extramarital affair with an actress. She claims, "Petitioner discovered in 2021 that Respondent was involved in an adulterous relationship with an actress."
This became the primary reason for her to take a bold step and file for divorce.
The report further notes that despite all assurances from the Leo actor of ending the extramarital affair, he continued to pursue the same.
The petition further stated, "The respondent, even after assuring to end the relationship, continued the adulterous relationship without remorse." These assertions strengthen the grounds for divorce under Section 27(1)(a) and 27(1)(d) of the Special Marriage Act.
The matter is currently present before the District Court, and the proceedings are ongoing, with no final outcome as of yet.
While the actress`s name is not identified yet, rumours of Vijay being linked to Trisha Krishnan have been doing the rounds for several years. However, neither of them have confirmed such claims.
Vijay and Sangeetha tied the knot in 1999. They are parents to two children – a son named Jason Sanjay and a daughter, Divya Shasha.
