The Kashmir Files To Re-release In Theatres On January 19, A Week Ahead Of SRK`s Pathaan

Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files, released in theatres in March 2022, made headlines for several reasons. While the movie was highly praised for depicting the ‘truth’, as it is, others called it ‘propaganda’. Despite all the odds, the film earned Rs 300 crores at the box office.
However, less than a year after The Kashmir Files hit theatres, it is now all set to re-release. Vivek Agnihotri’s decision to re-release his movie was surprising and unexpected. He has decided to re-release his historic hit The Kashmir Files on January 19, six days ahead of Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited and hyped Pathaan. January 19th marks the 33rd year of the horryfying exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits from the valley.
On Wednesday, Vivek Agnihotri took to his Twitter handle and announced that The Kashmir Files will be re-released on January 19, 2023. He mentioned that this is for the first time that a film is re-releasing in less than a year. “#TheKashmirFiles is re-releasing on 19th January - The Kashmiri Hindu Genocide Day. The return of The Kashmir Files six days ahead of Pathaan is definitely a big deal. The historical political drama earned more than Rs. 340 crores worldwide when it was first released on March 11, 2022.
The film has the committed support of a huge section of Indian audiences who will now go back to see The Kashmir Files. Surprisingly, this is the first time in the history of Indian cinema that a film is being re-released within one year of its original release.
