The much-awaited film of the year, Jigra, saw a theatrical release today on October 11. While it is clashing with Rajkummar Rao-Triptii Dimri`s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, the former is getting better reviews.
The Jigra trailer release had the audience captivated and intrigued with the intense plot and high-octane action. Seeing Alia Bhatt in a fierce mode was enough for the viewers to book their tickets immediately.
As soon as the trailer was dropped, netizens started drawing comparisons between Alia Bhatt`s film and Ranbir Kapoor`s Animal. At a press meet, the actress discussed the same and spoke about if there`s any professional competition between the couple.
In the press event held in Delhi, the actress addressed netizens, drawing comparisons between the two films. She said, “I wouldn’t say there’s any competition between us.”

She continued, “I feel very fortunate that my husband (Ranbir Kapoor) is also my best friend and a wonderful actor. We often discuss our films and scenes with each other. I talked about Gangubai Kathiawadi and Jigra. Every time I had a confusion, I would discuss it with him, and he did the same with me for Animal.”
Speaking about comparisons between Jigra and Animal, Alia Bhatt said, “I know people have been comparing the two, but there really aren’t many similarities. It’s not just about Animal or Jigra; a common theme in many films is doing something for a loved one."
"It’s a genre in itself, and many movies have been made on these lines. So aside from that one aspect, there aren’t any direct similarities between the two films,” she concluded.
Alia Bhatt plays the role of Satya, a sister to Vedang Raina, who is on a mission to free his brother from foreign jail. The movie also stars Manoj Pahwa and Sobhita Dhulipala in prominent roles.
She will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s Love and War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
