When SRK Revealed How Designing Mannat Became Gauri Khan`s First Project

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan`s funny Mannat story
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are one of the ideal couples of Bollywood. However, they are rarely seen giving interviews together. While one is an ace designer, the other charms us with his spectacular acting skills.
On the star wife`s birthday, here`s a throwback to when Shah Rukh Khan revealed Gauri Khan`s passion and career as an interior designer started by designing their luxurious home Mannat.
SRK called his wife the `Captain` of the house as well as the one who designed it.
After gaining a decent stardom in Indian cinema, Shah Rukh purchased the property, however, when it came to designing the same, it went beyond the actor`s budget.

"When we bought Mannat, it was way beyond our being from Delhi, one was used to living in bungalows. But in Mumbai, apartments are even more expensive. As soon as we mustered up some money, we managed to buy this bungalow. It was beyond our means, but we bought it. We didn`t have the money to design it then. We called a designer and the money that the person quoted was beyond my salary," said the Pathaan actor.
SRK further added, "So I asked Gauri to design it. That`s how the journey started. We build the house by buying all the small things needed to build a house. It took a while, but we did it. For her to do this at such a young age also helped her to learn. For me, now it`s very nice that I don`t have to look for another designer. It`s easier to discuss what we want. We want things to be clean and nice."
He also made a cameo in his son, Aryan Khan`s directorial debut web series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood.
Shah Rukh is now gearing up for King, a film with his daughter Suhana Khan.
