Is AR Rahman`s Bassist Mohini Dey the reason for this divorce with wife Saira Banu?
The Google search and Bollywood gossip column have been filled with AR Rahman and Saira Banu`s divorce news. On Tuesday evening, the couple announced separation after 29 years of being married. Now, coincidentally, the music maestro`s bassist, Mohini Dey, has also declared separation from her husband, sparking controversy.
Mohini Dey, a bassist hailing from Kolkata, raised eyebrows as she announced separation from her husband, Mark Hartsuch, just hours after Rahman shared the heartbreaking news on social media.
While these two announcements speculated a connection between them. However, AR Rahman and Saira Banu`s lawyer has denied the rumours, saying there`s no link between him and Mohini Dey.
For the uninformed, the couple attributed their separation to "significant emotional strain" in their relationship. Apparently, the couple tried hard to reach the grand thirty, but the tensions between them created a huge gap between them.

Their lawyer jointly announced AR Rahman and Saira Banu`s divorce in a shared post. The statement mentioned an emotional toll taken on both individually.
"After many years of marriage, Mrs. Saira has made the difficult decision to separate from her husband, Mr. AR Rahman. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time. Mrs. Saira requests privacy and understanding from the public during this challenging time," the statement read.
Sharing the news on her Instagram account, the statement read, "The big thing we want to wish is love to everyone out there in the world. We appreciate your support in all of the ways you have given it to us. Please honour the decision we have made by being positive towards us at this time and respecting our privacy. We would appreciate no judgements."
Mohini Dey has been touring with AR Rahman for years as a bassist.

In an interview with Republic TV, the celebrity lawyer Vandana Shah spoke about the ongoing controversy and said, "There is no connection at all.
