Last weekend was all about NH7 Weekender Pune. Held at the Mahalaxmi Lawns in Pune, the 13th edition of the happiest music festival was attended by music fans from across the country. It was three days of unadulterated music coupled with lip smacking food and fun activities, something that NH7 Weekender has made a name for over the years. The NH7 Weekender Pune lineup had a mix of everything, from international headliners and homegrown regulars to talented debutants. The artists cut across genres, everyone had something they liked. Here are our top 3 moments from NH7 Weekender Pune 2022
The Lumineers Fanbase
One of the biggest draws at NH7 Weekender Pune 2022 was American alt-folk act The Lumineers. The band belted out hits after hits including their 2012 breakout track Ho Hey. The band from Colorado kept everyone at NH7 Weekender Pune hooked to their set with endless banters and great music. What was refreshing to see was that the band has a cult following in the country with fans yelling the lyrics of most of the songs being performed.
The Festival of The Debutants
One of the major acheievements of NH7 Weekender as a music festival is to provide a platform to young indie musicians. Over the year there have been multiple artists who have gained prominence after performing on the Weekender stage. This year there were more than 10 acts who debuted at the festival. Some of them being all women hiphop crew Wild Wild Women, singer songwriter duo Gouri and Aksha, post rock act VelvetMeetsATimeTraveller amongst others.
The Anuv Jain Phenomenon
If there is one singer songwriter in India who can fill a stadium just by playing the guitar and crooning soulful melodies, no flashy LEDs or the support of bandmates it has to be Anuv Jain. Music fans at NH7 Weekender Pune just proved it. Anuv`s set was practically attended by everyone at the festival and was defibitely one of the highlights. Guess India have got their own Ed Sheeran now.
