Father`s Day 2023: Gunjan Saxena, Piku, And More Bollywood Movies That Portrayed Father’s Characters The Best
On this Fathers Day, lets have a look at some of the Bollywood films that portrayed Father characters the best.
1. Sanjay Thapar (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani):
Understanding the beautiful bond between a father and a son is not everyone's cup of tea. In the film, the role of Sanjay Thapar is played by the late Farooq Sheilh. Sanjay is one of those cool dads who will always be there to listen to you if you feel sad. Thapar knew his son could not handle real conversations and tries to stay away from home, but still chose to love him in all ways possible.
2. Bhaskor Banerjee (Piku):
Bhaskor, played by Amitabh Bachchan is a feminist father who raised his daughter alone and made her independent in the true sense of the word. No doubt, throughout the movie, he teaches people about women's rights and encourages women to become the best version of themselves and be financially independent.
3. Anup Saxena (Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl):
Pankaj Tripathi played the character of Anup Saxena, a father who never lets her daughter face any situation alone. He stood up for her and supported her dreams against all odds in society. Anup broke all the stereotypes and made his daughter believe in her dreams again.

4. Sachin Sandhu (Thappad):
Kumud Mishra beautifully portrays the role of a kind, an empathetic father who never lets his daughter face any difficulties alone. He stood by her when she files for divorce from her husband after he slaps her in front of everyone at the party. Sachin not only supports his daughter in her decision but also accepts his inherent misogyny.
5. Champak Bansal (Angrezi Medium):
The character played by the late Irrfan Khan, Champak Bansal, would be the perfect salute to all the kind and hardworking fathers all around the world. He comes from a middle-class family but goes to any lengths to help his daughter secure admission to a London-based university. He leaves no effort to show that fathers can play the role of a mother and a good friend, to their child.
