Mumbais Vada Pav and monsoon are to die for. One can stare the shore for hours. There are some Bollywood movies that depict Mumbai ki Baarish perfectly. So here we are, creating a monsoon binge-watch list for you. Read on to know which movie you should start with.
1. Wake Up Sid
Of course this was going to top the list. "Actually Aisha, tumhe Bombay baarish mein dekhna chahiye. Main ghanto tak samundar ko dekh sakta hoon!", we all felt this when Sid (Ranbir Kapoor) said this to Aisha (Konkana Sen Sharma), a newcomer in Mumbai.Wake Up Sid gives us life lessons we never knew we needed, brings us closer to the beauty of the city, and gives out a message to take life lightly. The song "Boondon Ke Moti" is a rare gem and if you haven't heard it, now is the time.
2. Ok Jaanu
Though the film failed to make a mark on the box office, the way Mumbai and its rains were portrayed here was truly a sight for the sore eyes. Exploring the town whilst enjoying the soothing drops of the first monsoon was the best part of the movie.Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor, once a rumored couple, play a couple who enjoy a fling with each other but end up falling in love - both with each other and Mumbai monsoons.
3. Tum Mile
Remember when Mumbai was neck deep in rains and the city almost drowned in the 26th July floods? Tum Mile is based on the same event with a love story added to it. Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan are stuck in the rain and mend their differences.Well, if we keep the muddy puddles, pot holes, cab cancellations and delayed locals aside - Mumbai monsoon can be really romantic. Just make some fritters, a hot cup of chia, and watch Tum Mile.
4. Dil Toh Pagal Hain
"Koi ladki hain, jab bhi hasti hain... baarish hoti hai!", we all have grooved to this song in our childhood. Even today, it is one of the most dance-worthy songs we have. This Dil Toh Pagal Hain song gave us major nostalgia, taking us back to our childhood days.Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor, and Shah Rukh Khan steal the show, reminding us of our care-free childhood
5. Aashiqui 2
Another Shraddha Kapoor-Aditya Roy Kapur movie, Aashiqui 2 was known for three things - its music, the jacket scene, and monsoon. 'Tum hi ho' was an instant hit and so were the two actors under the leather jacket. We wonder how'd they pass the insane Mumbai traffic and messy, muddy puddles?6. Chameli
This is an underrated gem that you must add to your monsoon binge watch list. Headlined by Kareena Kapoor and Rahul Bose, the story is about a rich investment banker and a street-smart prostitute who get stuck in Mumbai's heavy downpour. They talk about love, life, and everything in between throughout the night.Chameli's song Bhaage Re Mann is a perfect example of how monsoon lovers have a whale of a time whenever it pours.
