Priyanka Chopra turns 41 today. She is probably one of those few actresses who can ace any role effortlessly. Be it a leading lady or a cruel villain, the Citadel star can do it all. On her birthday, lets have a look at three times when Priyanka Chopra aced the negative characters.
1. Aitraaz: Sonia Roy
With this movie, Priyanka Chopra set a benchmark for actresses who would love to play the bad guy. Sophisticated, sensuous, yet sinful, Sonia Roy's vices were money and power. This was until she hit rock bottom and realized that choosing money over love had already destroyed her.Aitraaz was way ahead of its time. It brought two arch-rivals, who now claim to be friends, together: Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor. PeeCee plays Akshay Kumar's ex-lover, who leaves him for rich guys only to know she'll never find love and sexual satisfaction.
Fun fact: PeeCee was just 21 when she played a menacing villain in Aitraaz.
2. Yakeen: Simar Oberoi
If you're wondering why Bollywood cannot offer more diabolical roles to Priyanka Chopra, wait till you see Yakeen. The movie is filled with jaw-dropping twists and turns. The actress kills off her husband (portrayed by Sudhanshu Pandey) and dumps his body with the help of her boyfriend (Arjun Rampal). In this process, Priyanka and Arjun get involved in a car crash, and the latter loses his memory. She takes advantage of this situation and makes him undergo plastic surgery to resemble her dead husband.
If the storyline itself raises your eyebrows, imagine what Priyanka's almost-convincing performance as a villain can do.
3. 7 Khoon Maaf: Susanna Anna-Marie Johannes
How far can you go for love? 7 Khoon Maar asks this question in a mysterious way. Priyanka Chopra plays an Anglo-Indian woman who is on a quest to find her perfect life partner. In the process, she marries seven times to seven different men, who die mysteriously.Seven weddings, Seven husbands, seven deaths, and one woman - interesting, isn't it? 7 Khoon Maaf is an adaptation of Ruskin Bond's Sussanna's Seven Husbands. The movie is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and has Priyanka playing the good girl gone bad.
Radio City wishes the global superstar a very happy birthday.
