As Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Temple opens its doors to devotees after its grand inauguration, India records yet another historic event. On this occasion, lets have a look at upcoming movies that will narrate the Ramayana and the making of Ram Mandir.
1. Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana
Nitesh Tiwari's most ambitious and anticipated project, Ramayana, will bring a stellar star cast together. After several walkouts, the filmmaker has finally zeroed in on the cast members who will narrate the iconic Hindu mythology saga.Ranbir Kapoor will headline the film as Lord Ram, and Sai Pallavi will be seen as Mata Sita. Along with the two leading actors, Ramayana also features Navin Polishetty as Laxman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. KGF's Yash will be seen as the menacing Ravana.
Previously, Tiwari had roped in Hrithik Roshan for the role of Lord Ram and Alia Bhatt to play Mata Sita. However, the two walked out due to reasons best known to them. The film will go on the floor in March 2024.
2. Kangana Ranaut's untitled movie
Ahead of the Ram Mandir inauguration, the actress visited the under-construction holy site to seek blessings for her upcoming movie, Tejas. That is when Kangana Ranaut announced the script for making Ram Mandir was ready.In one of her social media posts, the Emergency actor said, "Finally, the Ram Lalla temple has been built. This is a centuries-long struggle by Hindus, and our generation is able to see it to this day. I have written a script on Ayodhya and also done research. This is a 600-year-long struggle, and this day is becoming possible due to the Modi government and CM Yogi Adityanath."
"This will be the biggest pilgrimage site for Hindus, like the Vatican is for Christians... This will be a grand symbol of the country and Sanatan culture before the world. Ram Mandir also plays a significant role in our film Tejas," she concluded.
3. 695: Triumph of Faith
Veteran actor Arun Govil, who essayed the role of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana, will headline the upcoming mythological drama. The movie revolves around the struggles and sacrifices made during the construction of the historic Ayodhya Ram Mandir.Talking about 695, Govil said, "It's an honor to revisit the timeless narrative that holds a special place in the hearts of millions. '695' is not just a film; it's a celebration of our cultural heritage and the triumph of faith."
4. Adhira
After the release of the South blockbuster HanuMan, director Prasanth Varma aims to create a mythological superhero cinematic universe. HanuMan was headlined by superstars Teja Sajja and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar.Now, the filmmaker has announced the next movie in the cinematic universe, titled Adhira. It stars newcomer Dasari Kalyan, the son of D. V. V. Danayya, who produced the mega-blockbuster RRR.
Adhira is slated to release in 2024.
