October started on a rather fiery note (quite literally) as veteran actor Govinda accidentally shot himself while cleaning his revolver on Tuesday morning. As he continues to recover, heres a look at five Bollywood stars who own a licensed gun. Read to see who made it to the list.
1. Salman Khan
In around 2022, after receiving several anonymous death threats, Salman Khan was granted a firearm license. In his application, the Dabangg star explained that he needed the licensed gun for 'self protection' as he keeps on receiving threats from Lawence Bishnoi and the gang.
2. Govinda
The Bhagam Bhaag actor accidentally injured himself while cleaning his revolver on Tuesday morning as the gun misfired and hurt his knee. He was immediately rushed to Mumbai's CritiCare hospital, where he continues to recover.
3. Soha Ali Khan
In 2005, the Rang De Basanti actress owned a.22-bore rifle with a 3 year renewal period. However, her license was later cancelled after wildlife activist Naresh Kadiyan filed a complaint citing she was underage and used her family's privilege to own a gun.
4. Amitabh Bachchan
After the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the Sarkar actor got himself a licensed revolver. Amitabh Bachchan revealed that on the very night of terror, he took out his.32 revolver, loaded it, and placed it under his pillow in case he needed to protect himself and his family.
