Indian filmmaker Yash Chopra has directed films for over six decades in Indian Cinema. He is the founding chairman of YRF or Yash Raj Films. He made his directorial debut in Bollywood with ‘Dhool Ka Phool’ in 1959. Heres taking a look at some of his greatest works of all time.
1. Veer Zaara- The film stars Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherji and Shah Rukh Khan in a romantic-drama. Based on an Indian Air force officer who falls for a Pakistani politician’s daughter and gets imprisoned due to false allegations, the film won National Award honours.
2. Kabhi Kabhie- The Amitabh Bachchan, Rakhee Gulzar, Shashi Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh starrer, earned Rs 40 million at the box office. An absolutely unforgettable film.
4.Darr- The 1993 film stars, Juhi Chawla, Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan. It is a psychological thriller, where Rahul played by SRK is obsessed with his crush, and stalks her which causes trouble in her personal life.
5. Deewar - Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Praveen Babi and Neetu Singh, the film won 7 Flimfare Awards.
6. Dharamputra- A social drama revolving around India’s Partition, the film marked the debut of Shashi Kapoor as the lead role. It was awarded the National Award for Best Feature Film.
